Coach Carroll's the-next-game-is-the-biggest-game mentality is in full force this week as the Trojans look to capture the L.A. crown for the 10th time in 11 seasons.
"Every game is a championship game for us," Carroll told his team this afternoon. "This game just happens to be a championship game of a different sense."
And the battle is magnified because of the two programs' familiarity with each other, as coaches recruit the same players and several members of each staff know one other from their years on the coaching circuit.
"We know almost every player and coach on the other team," Carroll said. "We have a familiarity with the coaching staff and players like no other team."
