Mark Sanchez won the NFL's offensive rookie of the month for September, while three other Trojans were nominated for defensive rookie of the month.
Kicker David Buehler (tied for the NFL lead with seven touchbacks), linebacker Brian Cushing (leads his team and all NFL rookies with 26 tackles) and Rey Maualuga (15 tackles and two forced fumbles) were the USC nominees for the award that went to Detroit Lions safety Louis Delmas.
