- Fall is in the air here, as the Trojan buses wove through autumn-colored trees en route to Notre Dame Stadium.
- In one of the most entertaining "fatman football" games in recent memory, the offensive linemen beat the defense, six touchdowns to five, in a wild back-and-forth battle.
- The outside air was in the 40s, but the heat was on in the visitors' locker room at Notre Dame Stadium, with warm heat making the locker room a very pleasant place to hide from the cold.
