As the Trojans begin preparations for the annual Notre Dame game, coaches will be downplaying the magnitude of one of college football's best rivalries all week leading into Saturday afternoon's kickoff.
So you can shelve any discussion of shillelaghs, long grass and leprechauns -- at least in Heritage Hall. Save that for the water cooler at work, since it's time for the Trojans to pull out one of their favorite clichés: "it's just another game."
"We put the fire out on talk like that," Coach Carroll said, "because every game is a huge game for us."
