One of the most promising signs from Saturday's victory related to something USC's offensive coaches have been harping on all season.
Or three things, to be exact: Tempo, swagger and control of the game.
The Trojans had 77 offensive plays and racked up more than 36 minutes of time of possession, along with producing four drives that went 65 yards or longer. All three stats pinpoint why the Trojans were able to dominate and take complete control of the contest.
"Ball control is always good," offensive coordinator John Morton said. "We were really clicking. It's always good having long drives because it gets you in a groove and keeps the defense off the field.
"The quarterback was playing awesome and guys were making plays all over the field. It was great."
