- Following a victory on Competition Tuesday, the offense captured a rare double win on Turnover Wednesday by not allowing a turnover all day and taking an 11-8 triumph in the final team period. "That's a great day for the offense," Coach Carroll said in the post-practice team huddle.
- Wideout Damian Williams turned in a strong all-around performance during the full-pads workout on Wednesday. During team period, he caught two touchdown passes, but his most important play came when he saved the win for the offense in the turnover-themed practice. On a deep ball down the left sideline, Williams swatted it out of the hands of the cornerback to prevent the would-be interception, and the offense went on to pitch a shutout on Turnover Wednesday. "That's a hell of a play!" Carroll exclaimed.
- Cornerback Josh Pinkard sat out of a majority of Wednesday's practice with a foot injury.
- Fullback Stanley Havili remained out of practice and is able to play as tolerated, but the coaches will "wait it out and see" on his status, Carroll said. In his absence, D.J. Shoemate will fill in. "D.J. does everything Stanley does," Carroll said. "I'm anxious to see him play."
- Tailback Marc Tyler is likely to have surgery next week to repair a broken bone in his toe, Carroll said.
- With cornerback Brian Baucham returning to full-time action after his motorcycle injury last month, Carroll said the competition is on between Baucham and T.J. Bryant for the third cornerback spot.
