USC has scored at least 40 points against Washington State in four of the past five games.
QB John David Booty has now thrown at least one TD pass in 15 of his 16 career starts, at least two TD passes 12 times, three TD passes nine times and four TD passes twice (the other coming against Michigan last year). He also threw for more than 200 yards for the 13th time in his career and ninth time in last 10 games.
Booty completed 17 of his first 19 passes and finished 28 of 35 for 279 yards, his 28 completions a personal best. He moved into seventh on USC's all-time completions list at 371. He also moved into 10th on USC's career total offense chart at 4313.
Tight end Fred Davis' two first-half TD receptions are the sixth and seventh of his career, and first two of the season. His nine receptions for 124 yards are both career highs. (John Allred holds the USC tight end record for receptions in a game, 10 vs. Houston in 1996). His 124 reception yards were the most by a Trojan since Dwayne Jarrett's 205 against Michigan in the Rose Bowl last season. Today was also the first time Davis caught two TD passes in one game.
Fullback Stanley Havili's first-quarter TD run (leap over the goal line) was his fourth TD of the year (second rushing).
PK David Buehler's second-quarter field goals of 23 and 29 yards make him 3-of-3 in 2007. It's his first multi-field goal game of his career and he is 4-of-4 for his career.
DE Kyle Moore's second-quarter interception was the second of the season after his pick last week at Nebraska. Both interception returns provided USC with first-and-goals.
TB Chauncey Washington's 3rd-quarter 7-yard TD run was his third rushing TD this season.
TB Allen Bradford's 3rd-quarter 4-yard TD reception was his second touchdown this season (the other was rushing) and first reception. Like he did after his TD run at Nebraska last week, he came back to make the tackle on the ensuing kickoff as part of USC's kickoff coverage team. Bradford had one TD reception last year.
WR Vidal Hazelton 4th-quarter TD reception was his second of the season.
TB Desmond Reed's 44-yard kickoff return in the first quarter was the third longest of his career. He returned one for 51 yards against Arkansas in 2005 and one for 49 yards against UCLA in 2004.
TB Hershel Dennis made his first appearance since the final regular season game of 2004 (vs. Notre Dame). He missed the 2005 and 2006 seasons due to knee injuries.
A week after limiting Nebraska to 31 rushing yards, USC held WSU to 64 yards rushing, 48 coming on the final drive. USC entered the game ranked ninth nationally in rushing defense (64.5) and has held seven of its last 10 opponents to under 100 rushing yards (including the Rose Bowl).
USC received the game's opening kickoff for the first time since the Rose Bowl against Texas at the end of the 2005 season.
USC scored at least 20 unanswered points (27 tonight) for the third game in a row in 2007. USC did it five times in 2006 and 11 or more times from 2002 to 2005.
USC had 509 total yards tonight, its most since gaining 574 yards vs. Texas on Jan. 4, 2006 in the Rose Bowl.
USC's entered the game having played in front of 14 straight home crowds of 90,000-plus, a streak that ended with today's 86,876. The last crowd less than 90,000 was against Arizona in 2004 (80,167).
USC statistician Ned Miller missed his first home game today since 1967 to honor the Jewish holiday Yom Kippur.
