Sophomore Jamie Lovemark and junior Tom Glissmeyer were each 2-under and finished among the top 10 to lead the No. 6 USC men's golf team during the final round of the Isleworth-UCF Collegiate Invitational at the Isleworth C.C. in Windermere, Fla., on Tuesday (Oct. 23).
The Trojans finished third at 1-under 863 (284-287-292). Georgia remained the hottest team in the field and won going away at 23-under 841 while Clemson edged USC for second at 2-under 862.
Lovemark was tied for first entering the final round and finished second overall at 8-under 208 (68-70-70). Harris English of Georgia was medalist at 11-under 205.
Lovemark actually led after the 13th hole but bogeys on the 14th, 15th and 16th holes opened the door for English, who birdied 14 and 16 to go with a par on 15. Lovemark still finished with five birdies on a day and had at least that many in each round of the tournament.
Glissmeyer tied for seventh at 3-under 213 (73-70-70). His final round started with a double bogey, but he went on to record six birdies, including three on the final six holes, to get into the red.
Sophomore Rory Hie tied for 20th at 1-over 217 (73-70-74), his three birdies helping to offset a pair of double bogeys in the final round.
Freshman Tim Sluiter tied for 58th at 9-over 225 (70-77-78) while freshman Gavin Reid tied for 83rd at 21-over 237 (77-78-82).
