Junior Tom Glissmeyer and sophomores Jamie Lovemark and Rory Hie all recorded 2-under 70s and the No. 6 USC men's golf team is in third place after the second round of the Isleworth-UCF Collegiate Invitational at the Isleworth C.C. in Windermere, Fla., on Monday (Oct. 22).
USC entered the day tied for first with Oklahoma State and host Central Florida, but all three schools were passed by Georgia, which is now in first at 10-under 566. USC, which followed an opening round 284 with a second-round 287, is at 5-under 571, one back of second place Wake Forest.
Lovemark complemented his first-round 68 with Tuesday's 70. Two-over after the front 9, Lovemark birdied four holes on the back 9 to tie for first place overall at 6-under 138. He is tied with Oklahoma State's Rickie Fowler in a field in which the top 11 players are separated by only three strokes.
Hie and Glissmeyer are among six players tied for 15th at 1-under 143 (each turning in a 73 and a 70). Hie was 1-under going in and going out while Glissmeyer was 3-under on the front 9 before cooling a bit on the way in.
Freshman Tim Sluiter is tied for 40th at 3-over 147 (70-77) while freshman Gavin Reid is tied for 72nd at 11-over 155 (77-78).
The invitational concludes Tuesday.
