White ran for a career-high 197 yards (186 in the second half) on 19 carries with touchdowns of 32 and 46 yards to help the top-ranked Trojans overcome an 18-point halftime deficit and come back to win, 38-28.
White currently is 17th nationally in rushing (109.3, fourth in Pac-10). He has 34 rushing TDs in 30 career games (and 37 overall TDs), along with 10 games with 100 rushing yards (twice in 2005). He already is 12th on USC's prestigious career rushing list (with 2,294 yards). In 2005, more than half of his yards (265) have come after contact.
He and teammate Reggie Bush--who was the Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Week the previous week following his showing at Oregon--both had 100-yard rushing game for the second straight week, the first time that USC had a pair of 100-yard runners in consecutive games since 1977 (Rod Connors/Dwight Ford versus TCU and Ford/Charles White versus Washington State).
Also honored this week by the Pac-10 were cornerback Daymeion Hughes of California as Defensive Player of the Week and wide receiver/kick returner Terry Richardson of Arizona State as Special Teams Player of the Week.
