Sacramento, Calif. - Torri Edwards, one of the great sprinters in USC history, finished second in the U.S. Olympic trials 100m dash last weekend and will represent her country at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
Edwards, a six-time All-American for the Women of Troy from 1996-1999, ran 11.02 to place behind LaTasha Colander, who ran 10.97. Lauryn Williams was third in 11.10 and will join Colander and Edwards in Athens in the event.
The trials are on a two-day break, but will resume on July 15. Edwards also will compete in the 200m and is considered one of the favorites in that event.
