Paul McDonald, the analyst on KMPC-AM 1540's USC football radio broadcasts, was honored as the Best Radio Color Commentator at the 2002 Southern California Sports Broadcasters Association annual awards luncheon on Monday (Feb.4).
He beat out semifinalists Matt Stevens (UCLA) and John Ireland (UCLA).
McDonald, who has handled Troy's analyst duties the past four years, was a 1979 All-American quarterback at USC and led the 1978 Trojans to the national championship. He then spent eight seasons in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns and Dallas Cowboys.
