
Djeke Mambo Name Pac-10 Field Athlete Of The Week

Los Angeles - Senior Djeke Mambo was named the Pac-10 Field Athlete of the Week, the Pac-10 Conference announced today (May 7).
Mambo scored 12 points to help USC defeat UCLA, 82-81, for the Trojans' first dual meet win over the Bruins since 1977. Mambo, who hails from Brussels, Belgium, won the triple jump with an NCAA automatic mark of 53-11 3/4 and won the long jump with a mark of 25-0 1/2. Mambo also finished second in the 110m high hurdles in 13.97.
Mambo is a two-time Pac-10 finalist in all three of those events. He has the second best triple jump in USC history at 54-4, a mark that is second in the collegiate ranks in 2001.
Mambo is the second USC athlete to earn Pac-10 honors this season, joining 800m runner Brigita Langerholc.
