Cross Country Places Second At UC San Diego Invitational

Senior Sarah Ellis ran the 6,000-meter run in 22:30.0 to take second individually and lead the USC women's cross country team to a second place finish at the 2001 Triton Classic Cross Country Invitational held at the UC San Diego Campus Course in San Diego, Calif., on Saturday (Oct. 13).
The Women of Troy scored 61 points to finish behind Nevada's 52. Cal Coast Track Club was third with 80 points, while San Diego State was fourth with 134.
Emma Garrard of Nevada won the individual crown with a time of 22:24.40.
Also for USC, senior Sinfo Orosco was 10th (23:20.60) and freshman Lisa Rotsel was 13th (23:27.20).
The Women of Troy are next in action at the Cal State Fullerton Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 20).
