As the Trojans neared the end of the first week of workouts at UC Irvine, USC held its first scrimmage of camp. The team held a 90-minute practice in the morning, a mainly instructional session. It was followed by an afternoon session that featured a 100-play-plus scrimmage in front of more than 1,000 fans of Troy who showed up to get an early glimpse of the 2000 squad.
