LOS ANGELES-For the first time in USC football history, Trojan games will be broadcast on the radio in Spanish when Radio Express 1090AM (XPRS-AM 1090) airs Troy's final four home games of the 2000 season and the contest at UCLA, Trojan athletic director Mike Garrett announced today.
This is a wonderful opportunity for USC and our football program to reach out to a very important segment of the Southern California audience, said Garrett. USC has long had deep ties to the local Hispanic market. We are looking forward to building a valued relationship with Radio Express.
Said Khaled Abdelwahed, general sales manager of Radio Express 1090AM: The addition of USC football to Radio Express programming reinforces the station's commitment to deliver quality and unique programming to our listeners. With no local NFL team in Los Angeles, USC football is the main sports attraction during the fall.Broadcasting these games once the Anaheim Angels season ends will provide sports programming continuity to our audience.
Radio Express 1090AM will air USC's home games with Oregon (Oct. 14), California (Oct. 28), Washington State (Nov. 11) and Notre Dame (Nov. 25), as well as the Trojans' crosstown battle with UCLA at the Rose Bowl (Nov. 18).There will be a 20-minute pre-game show, followed by the game coverage.

Radio Express 1090AM, Southern California's premier Spanish-language radio station, delivers its 50,000-watt clear channel signal to Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, San Diego and Ventura Counties, as well as to Baja California.
