Hackett Preseason Tour Has Begun

LOS ANGELES - USC head football coach Paul Hackett will preview the upcoming Trojan season at various upcoming "Chalk Talk '99" receptions and dinners.
All events begin with a a no-host cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m., with dinner following at 7:15. Tickets are available by calling the the USC Athletic Deparment at (213) 740- 4155.
USC, coming off an 8-5 record in Hackett's debut season at Troy, will be led in 1999 by tailback Chad Morton, wide receiver R. Jay Soward, quarterback Carson Palmer and lineman Travis Claridge on offense and safety David Gibson, tackle Ennis Davis, cornerback Antuan Simmons and linebacker Sultan Abdul-Malik on defense.
The Trojans, who open their season on Sept. 4 at Hawaii, host UCLA, Arizona State, Stanford, Oregon State, San Diego State and Louisiana Tech in the Coliseum.
