USC Currently Tied for Third in Sears Rankings

LOS ANGELES - Through the early part of the fall season, USC stands in a tie for third place in the Sears Directors' Cup standings.
The Trojans collected points for winning a national championship in men's water polo and earning a spot in the NCAA Tournament for women's soccer. Women's cross country did not score any points.
The other three sports considered in the newest rankings were men's soccer, men's cross country and field hockey, none of which USC sponsors.
USC will add more points in the next set of rankings due to the women's volleyball team's NCAA berth, and football could also earn points with a top 25 finish.
Stanford is in first place with 280 points, Arkansas is second with 130 and USC, Indiana and Santa Clara have 120 points.
