Three Trojans Earn Player of the Week Honors

LOS ANGELES - Antuan Simmons of the football team, Jennifer Kessy of the women's volleyball team and Marko Pintaric of the men's water polo team each earned conference Player of the Week honors, it was announced on Monday.
Simmons, a sophomore cornerback, was named the Pacific-10 Conference's Special Teams Player of the Week. He blocked a punt that led to USC's go-ahead touchdown in the 35-24 win over Arizona State. Simmons had already been named Defensive Player of the Week once this season.
Kessy, a senior outside hitter, received the Pac-10's weekly honor after totalling 41 kills and 33 digs with a .384 hitting percentage in two wins against Pepperdine and UCLA. It's Kessy's fourth such honor of her career, a USC women's volleyball record.
Pintaric, a senior driver, was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Week after getting a total of six points in USC's two games. He has 19 points this season for the Trojans, who are No. 1 in the country and undefeated (9-0).
