LOS ANGELES -- It's a Super Saturday at USC this Saturday (April 4) as four premier sports events take place on campus.
It all begins at 11 a.m., with the annual Trojan Huddle public spring football practice and barbeque on Howard Jones Field. Lunch will be provided by In-N-Out Burger, then new Coach Paul Hackett will put his 1998 Trojan squad through drills, followed by an autograph session. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $20.
At noon, the Top 25-ranked USC women's tennis team hosts top-ranked and defending national champion Stanford at Marks Stadium.
Then, at 12:30 p.m. on Cromwell Track and Field, the USC men's and women's track and field teams host the APac-10 versus Big Ten Four-Way Meet,@ featuring Arizona, Ohio State and Michigan. Ohio State will be competing in a dual meet against USC in Los Angeles for the first time since the legendary Jesse Owens led the Buckeyes against Troy in the Coliseum in 1935. Arizona is led by distance runner Amy Skieresz, the first Division I female to win 4 NCAA titles in the same school year. Michigan's Kevin Sullivan, the Canadian record holder in the mile and 1,500 meters, has won 3 NCAA crowns. The meet is part of the U.S. Collegiate Track & Field Series put on by the U.S. Track Coaches Association and USA Track & Field with the goal of reviving the American public's interest in the sport by conducting 20 scoring meets during the spring on campuses throughout the U.S.
Finally, at 1 p.m., USC's No. 2-ranked baseball team hosts No. 1 Stanford in a Pac-10 Southern Division showdown at Dedeaux Field. Fans with a ticket to the football Trojan Huddle will get free admission to the baseball game.
