Chad Morton Named Trojans MVP At Annual Awards Banquet

LOS ANGELES - Senior tailback Chad Morton, who ran for 1,141 yards in 1999 and is USC's No. 8 career rusher, was named the Most Valuable Player of the Trojan football team at the annual awards banquet Thursday night (Dec. 9) at the Regal Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.
Senior quarterback John Fox, who led USC to victories in its final 3 games of 1999 as the starter, was named USC's Most Inspirational Player and also received the John Wayne Memorial Scholarship. Senior offensive tackle Travis Claridge, a 2-time All-Pac-10 first team pick, was USC's Offensive Lineman of the Year for the second consecutive year, while sophomore defensive tackle Ryan Nielsen was the Defensive Lineman of the Year. Senior safety Frank Carter was USC's Special Teams Player of the Year.
