Orv Mohler
- Induction:
- 1995
A 1930 All-American back and a 3-year letterman (1930-31-32), Orv Mohler set USC's since-broken career rushing record (2,025 yards). He averaged a spectacular 6.8 yards a carry in 1930 while gaining 983 yards. He will always be remembered in Trojan lore as the man who held the ball for Johnny Baker for the memorable field goal that upset Notre Dame in 1931. Mohler also played baseball at USC and was the student body president. He died on Nov. 26, 1949, at age 40 in a crash of his Air Force plane.
