Harry Smith was a 1938 and 1939 All-American on back-to-back Rose Bowl teams. An agile pulling guard, he was known as "Blackjack" for the cast he wore on one hand in the 1939 season. He lettered at Troy 3 years (1937-38-39). He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1955. He played in the NFL in 1940 and then was a football coach, including 2 years (1949-50) as an assistant at USC. He died on July 30, 2013, at age 94.
