Francis Tappaan

Francis Tappaan, a 1929 All-American end who lettered 3 years (1927-28-29), was a member of USC's first national championship team (1928). He played on Troy’s 1929 Rose Bowl squad. He was a USC assistant coach in 1931 and 1932. He then held various professional positions in the business, education, legal and political fields, including serving as a vice president at USC, a lawyer and a judge. He died on Aug. 10, 1978, at age 70.
