C.J. Ah You joined the USC staff as a defensive quality control analyst in March of 2021.

He was the special teams quality control coach at Oklahoma in 2014 and 2015 (he also helped with the defensive line), then was the defensive line coach at Vanderbilt for 3 years (2016-18).  Oklahoma played in the 2014 Russell Athletic Bowl and 2015 College Football Playoff semifinal in the Orange Bowl (the Sooners won the 2015 Big 12 championship), while Vanderbilt played in the 2016 Independence Bowl and 2018 Texas Bowl.

He spent 2019 and 2020 as the defensive line coach with the XFL’s New York Guardians.  In the summer of 2020, he held a minority coaching internship with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Ah You, 38, played defensive end at Oklahoma in 2005 and 2006, earning All-Big 12 first team honors in 2006 and Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year as a 2005 junior.  He started 21 of the 26 games he played as a Sooner, recording 88 tackles, including 22 for losses with 11 sacks, and 4 forced fumbles.

He began his collegiate playing career at BYU (2001, 03), then was at Snow College in Ephraim (Ut.) in 2004 before transferring to Oklahoma.

He was a seventh round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills.  He was with the St. Louis Rams for 6 years (2007-12), seeing action in 33 games in the 2009-11 seasons and getting 41 tackles (7 for losses, with 6 sacks).

He received his bachelor’s degree in sociology from Oklahoma in 2006.

He starred in football at Lone Peak High in Highland (Ut.).

He was born on July 7, 1982.  He and his wife, Chynea, have 4 daughters:  Makiah, Atiana, Alei’a and Milani.  His initials stand for Charles Jr.  His father, Charles Sr. (1973-75), and brother, Matt (2003-04, 08), played football at BYU, his uncle, Junior Ah You, played at Arizona State (1969-71) and in the USFL and CFL (he is in the Canadian Football Hall of Fame), his nephew, Chaz Ah You, is a junior linebacker at BYU, his cousins, Kingsley (1992-93) and Harland (1995-97) Ah You, played football at BYU and his brother, Jasen, is the executive coordinator of recruiting and player personnel at BYU.
