Banner was a co-captain in 2016, starting all but one game his senior year. He earned first team All-American honors for helping lead an offensive line that only gave up 12 sacks all season -- the fewest in the Pac-12.
Banner heads off to Indianapolis to protect Colts QB Andrew Luck, a three-time Pro Bowler.
Banner will play his first NFL game at a place very familiar to him: the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The Colts are at the Rams in Week 1, on Sept. 10, 2017.
NFL Draft viewers learned of Banner's fate in a unique way, as an orangutan named Rocky at the Indianapolis Zoo announced the selection.
