All year long, USC's Trojan Outreach program connects USC student-athletes with the community and helps raise awareness and money for different organizations.
One organization close to USC's heart is the
Walking Strong Foundation, which aims to find a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Jorge and Valerie Llauro started Walking Strong when their son, Alexander, was diagnosed with Duchenne. The Llauro family lives in Woodland Hills and loves USC Football. Alexander has had many special opportunities to interact with the Trojans this year, including
meeting players after practice in August and meeting head coach
Clay Helton in the tunnel of the Coliseum ahead of the UCLA game.
Trojan Outreach has also hosted other children in the Walking Strong Foundation for its Trojan Wish program and other events.
