A Girls Play Holiday

A Girls Play Holiday

Share:
This weekend, USC Athletics' Trojan Outreach program hosted a Christmas giving event for 600 local girls.

At the event, called A Girls Play Holiday, the young women visited the Galen Center, home to USC's basketball and volleyball teams. Inside the arena, the girls sat in the stands to listen to a motivational speech from 11-year-old actress Saniyya Sidney. Sidney, the young cousin of USC football wide receiver Trevon Sidney, has appeared in Academy Award-nominated films such as Hidden Figures and Fences.

After Sidney's talk, the girls were treated to a complimentary lunch and a special showing of Hidden Figures on the giant Galen Center video board screen.

The day ended with a surprise visit from members of the USC Women's basketball team, who announced that all the girls in attendance would receive a holiday gift bag. The bags, which were donated by Grant & Bowman Inc., were valued at $100 a piece.
