Men's Swimming & Diving | November 29, 2017
The USC women's and men's 800y free relays finished second and sixth, respectively, in the timed final opening act of the four-day Texas Invitational on Wednesday (Nov. 29), a strong showing to kick off what should be a fast week of swimming.
Â
The women's quartet of sophomores Louise Hansson and Tatum Wade, senior Lexie Malazdrewicz and junior Riley Scott clocked an NCAA 'A' cut of 7:00.40 to take second behind Texas in the women's race.
Â
Hansson, the school record holder over 200 yards, led off with a 1:43.39, just off her season-best 1:43.19.
Â
In the men's relay, senior
Dylan Carter, junior
Patrick Mulcare and freshmen
Jake Sannem and
Justin Nguyen swam to sixth in 6:20.87, a strong NCAA B cut less than a second off the A standard.
Â
Carter, also the men's record holder over 200 yards, opened with a 1:33.88, a USC season best and 1.34 off the NCAA A standard.
Â
