The Trojans returned from a week off and earned a dominant victory over the Washington State Cougars to improve to 4-0.

QB Kedon Slovis and WR Amon-Ra St. Brown came to play from the get-go, connecting for four touchdowns in the first quarter.
St. Brown's four TD receptions broke or tied a number of records:
- Tied NCAA record for TDs of any type in a quarter
- Second player in NCAA history to have 4 TD catches in a quarter
- First player in Pac-12 history to have 4 TD catches in a quarter
- Tied USC and Pac-12 record for receiving TDs in a single game
Slovis added another TD in the first half on a beautiful pass to Tyler Vaughns. Slovis' 5 TDs in a half ties the USC record, also achieved by Mark Sanchez, Matt Barkley and Cody Kessler.

USC's offense exploded in the first half, but the defense showed up too.
Safety Talanoa Hufanga hauled in an interception that ranked No. 2 on SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays of the Day. It was his third pick in four games this season.
Cornerback Olaijah Griffin also nabbed his first career interception on the night.

Defensive lineman Nick Figueroa continued what has been a great season for the former junior college standout. He notched 3.0 sacks, the most by a USC player since both Rasheem Green and Uchenna Nwosu had 3 against ASU in 2017.

USC wound up winning 38-13 to improve to 4-0 on the season and stay in the driver's seat for the Pac-12 South title.
