Billy Monjay, Matthew McDermott Earn Pac-12 All-Academic First Team Honors

Senior co-captain Billy Monjay and junior Matthew McDermott earned first team honors to lead six Trojans named to the Pac-12 Men's Swimming and Diving All-Academic teams that were announced Tuesday (April 9).

Monjay holds a 3.60 GPA as an industrial systems and engineering major as he collects first team honors for the third straight year. McDermott is a business administration major who has accumulated a 3.89 GPA, earning first team honors for the second consecutive year.

Featured on the second team are junior Mario Koenigsperger and senior Patrick Mulcare. Koenigsperger, a business administration major, will join the Pac-12's All-Academic second team again after making his first appearance in 2018. Meanwhile, Mulcare, a media arts and practice major, joins the All-Academic second team for the third year in a row.  

Sophomore industrial and systems engineering major Max Statham and junior business administration major Thomas Reed (second time) round out Troy's selections as part of the honorable mention team.
