USC senior libero Matt Douglas was named the MPSF Defensive Player of the Week.
Douglas had match-highs in digs in USC's 3-set loss at Pepperdine (8 digs) and its 5-set home win over UCLA (12 digs). He added 3 assists against the Waves and 4 assists versus the Bruins.
It is Douglas' second MPSF Defensive Player of the Week honor in 2019. He previously was honored for his effort against Grand Canyon (team-high 10 digs, plus 5 assists and no reception errors on 11 attempts) in mid-February.
He joins Ryan Moss (3 times), Jack Wyett (once) and Gianluca Grasso (once) as MPSF Player of the Week honorees in 2019.
