SEATTLE, Wash. – The USC baseball team again tied the game up late and forced extra innings, but came up short in the 10th inning as Washington got a walk-off hit from Nick Kahle to win 3-2 on Sunday.

USC falls to 8-14 overall with the loss and 2-4 in Pac-12 play, while the Huskies move to 14-5 overall and 5-1 Pac-12.

The Trojans got a strong start from Kyle Hurt in the game, as the sophomore righty threw 8.0 innings and struck out 10 batters while giving up just two runs. Hurt is the first Trojan since Kyle Davis in 2016 to notch 10 strikeouts in a game.

USC fell behind in the sixth inning when Kahle singled home two runs, but Chase Bushor came up with an RBI single in the eighth to even things back up. Carson Lambert came in and tossed a scoreless ninth to force extras before Kahle eventually ended the game with a hit to left.
