USC's Matthew Katnik was named the Pac-12 Men's Field Athlete of the Week and Twanisha "TeeTee" Terry was named the Pac-12 Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the week of March 11-17, it was announced by the Conference today (March 19).
The redshirt junior Katnik won the shot put at the Trojan Invitational by more than five feet with a PR of 63-10.25 (19.46m). That mark is the top shot put in the country this season and only two other throwers have a mark over 19.00m this season. Katnik, who this year earned All-America honors indoors in the shot put by placing seventh, moved from ninth to seventh on USC's all-time outdoor shot put list. He is a Business Administration major.
The sophomore Terry won the 200m dash at the Trojan Invitational with a time of 23.00 seconds into a headwind (-1.1). Her time is the fastest wind-legal mark this season and second in the country overall. Terry, who is majoring in communications with a minor in forensics and criminality, also anchored USC's 4x100m relay team which won at the Trojan Invite with a nation-leading time of 43.35, a mark that is also tied for ninth on USC's all-time list.
It is the third career Pac-12 weekly honor for Terry, who won the award twice en route to being named the Conference Freshman of the Year in 2018. Terry won the 2019 NCAA indoor 60m title with a time of 7.14 on March 9 to earned indoor All-America honors.
