SAN FRANCISCO – The USC beach volleyball pair of sophomore Haley Hallgren (Southlake, Texas) and senior Alexandra Poletto (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) was chosen as the Pac-12 Pair of the Week for the week of March 4-10, the conference announced on Tuesday, March 12.
 
It is the second award for a USC pair this season and marks the 15th time that a Trojan duo has received the conference's Pair of the Week honor. Last week, senior Abril Bustamante and sophomore Tina Graudina earned the weekly title. It is the third time that the Trojans' No. 3 pair has been chosen as the league's Pair of the Week. The Pac-12's first-ever award was won by Nicolette Martin and Allie Wheeler in 2016, also the No. 3 pair. In 2017, Martin and current senior Terese Cannon also won from the No. 3 spot.
 
Hallgren and Poletto are now 13-0 on the season and last week went 6-0 with four straight-set victories. First, the duo defeated Florida State's Molly McBain and Kate Privett, 25-27, 24-22, 15-13, in a 3-2 USC victory at home. They then dispatched of Stetson's Ana Costa and Rachel Noble in straight sets, 21-19, 21-19.
 
At the East Meets West Invitational in Manhattan Beach, Calif., the duo went three with Dorina and Ronja Klinger of Florida International for a 23-25, 21-19, 15-13 win. Then, in three straight-set wins, the beat Taylor Bradley and Claire Doyle of TCU, 21-16, 21-16; Kelli Agnew and Toni Rodriguez of LSU, 21-14, 28-26; and Payton Caffrey and Sara Putt of Florida State, 21-19, 22-20. The wins helped the Women of Troy go 6-0 and extend to a nine-dual winning streak.
 
No. 2-ranked USC (11-2) is in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., for the FIU Invitational where it will face No. 16 Florida Atlantic (6-2) and have a rematch with No. 8 Florida International (5-4) on Friday (March 15). Earlier today, the Trojans fell to No. 10 South Carolina, 3-2, and beat No. 18 Georgia State, 4-1, in Atlanta.
