The Trojans drop to 5-10 on the year, while CSUF moves to 7-7.
USC got on the board first with a solo-homer from Matthew Acosta in the first inning, but the visiting Trojans wouldn't score again until the seventh inning. Meanwhile the Titans took the lead with two runs in the third and then broke the game open with a five-run sixth inning.
USC scored once in each of the final three innings, but could never mount the comeback they needed. The Trojans had nine hits on the day, but left six runners on base.

- Matthew Acosta hit his first homer of the season and went 3-for-4 with two runs scored.
- Brandon Perez drove in a team high two runs on a pair of groundouts.
- Jamal O'Guinn had an RBI double.
- Austin Manning tossed 1.2 scoreless and hitless innings, striking out two and walking none.
