Scalabrine Named USC Men's Basketball MVP

LOS ANGELES - Junior forward Brian Scalabrine, who led the Trojans in scoring (17.8), field goal percentage (.531), three-point percentage (.403, tied) and free throws made and attempted (103-of-144) was named Most Valuable Player of the USC men's basketball team at the annual awards banquet Sunday night (April 9) at Town and Gown on campus.
For Scalabrine, a 2000 Pac-10 first team selection, it is the second consecutive year he was named USC's MVP. He is the first Trojan to win the honor outright for two straight years since Ronnie Coleman won it four years in a row (1988-91).
Senior forward Jarvis Turner earned the Sixth Man award and sophomore forward David Bluthenthal earned the award for most improved.
