Tyron Smith Cracks NFL Top 100
June 05, 2018 | Football, USC Ripsit Blog, Features
USC alum and current Dallas Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith was voted the No. 39 player in the NFL heading into the 2018 season by his peers.
Smith has appeared on NFL Network's Top 100 Players list for five straight seasons. He first made the list in 2014 at No. 78. In 2015, he moved up to No. 36. In 2016, he checked in at No. 42. In 2017, he made the jump all the way to No. 18 — the highest-rated offensive lineman in the NFL.
Smith, who played at USC from 2008-10, has also made the Pro Bowl in each of the last five seasons and earned two first team All-Pro selections.
Since being drafted in 2011, Smith has helped the Cowboys rank in the NFL's Top 10 in scoring, rushing offense, sacks allowed, yards per play and more.
Smith joins fellow Trojan Jurrell Casey (No. 66) on the Top 100 Players of 2018 list. Next Monday at 5 p.m. PT, players No. 21-30 will be announced.
