Sam Darnold Declares For 2018 NFL Draft

In a video posted on his Instagram account today, USC redshirt sophomore QB Sam Darnold announced that he will forfeit his remaining eligibility and enter the 2018 NFL Draft.
Darnold went 20-4 as USC's starting QB and racked up 7,229 yards and 57 passing touchdowns in two seasons at Troy.
In 2016, Darnold took over the starting job four games into the year and led USC to a Rose Bowl victory. The San Clemente, Calif. set the Rose Bowl record for total offense (473 yards) and tied the Rose Bowl record for total touchdowns (5) in the 52-49 win. He was named a freshman All-American and won the 2016 Archie Griffin Award, given to the nation's season-long most valuable player, after passing for 3,086 yards and 31 touchdowns.
In 2017, Darnold posted an 11-3 record and led USC to its first Pac-12 title since 2008. He set USC single-season records with 4,143 pass yards and 4,225 yards of total offense, along with 31 total touchdowns (26 pass, 5 rush). Darnold also became the first USC QB to earn Pac-12 First Team honors since Mark Sanchez in 2008.
The 2018 NFL Draft will take place from April 26-28 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Tex. USC has had 501 players selected in the NFL Draft, more than any other school in NFL history. USC also has more players selected in the first round (80) than any other school, and is tied for first in No. 1 overall draft picks, with 5.
